Coffee Shop Quirks?

Today's Mornin' Grind segment is about Wi-Fi use at coffee shops. But it got me to thinking about java joint etiquette? What gets your goat when you're at the local coffee house?

Line jumpers? Sure, this is annoying, but easy enough to remedy if you don't mind being a little vocal in public.

Computer users? Only if they drape their computer items across several tables and are playing really loud video games or loud videos.

For me, the biggest offender is the loud cell phone user. I don't want to hear your conversation, I really don't.

What about you? What gets your goat when you're simply trying to get your caffeine fix?

Surprisingly Good Coffee?

I was out grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend and we were chatting up the barista while we waited on our beverages. He commented on the surprisingly good coffee served at Cheddars, a restaurant chain with Macon and Warner Robins locations. It got me to thinking...have I had surprisingly good coffee around town?

I have to admit I'm always impressed with the coffee at Waffle House locations, even though it's never been bad. I guess I just don't expect it to go down so smooth. It's always the best part of my Waffle House experience, and you know the waffles are pretty nice, so that's saying something.

Diner coffee tends to be pretty nice, but there aren't any diner spots in the Middle Georgia area at present. I do know that diner coffee is a staple after a late night excursion to Atlanta. That, along with a piece of pie, is a great way to end a great night.

So, fess up. Where have you been "surprised" by the quality of the coffee? Maybe we'll make a stop and showcase their Mornin' Grind!
